Out of the chocks this morning was a slow start, but has been picking up a little momentum as the day progresses.
First: Adam has been able to speak much better and stronger, in fact he was able to carry on a conversation for a small duration. A speech therapist came in and tested his verbal abilities along with certain memory items. He did well! Shortly afterwards an audio specialist came in to test his hearing. There was a lot of people coming and going, pain medications were in the works so the test did not go well… not sure when we will retest to get a base line.
Adam is still not feeling well, yet he never offers a word of complaint, just a quiet note for information. I have found that you need to read between the lines with Adam as he wants to tell you something, yet he doesn’t want to inconvenience anyone. I am amazed at his strength and ability to deal with the situation.
Second: The physical therapist folks came in and wanted Adam to move around a little. We put the chair next to his bed, chopped some of the rubber jungle down and prepared him to get up and move to the chair. The rainbow boa wrapped around his head (all the lead wires) was our main concern, with the care of a mother deer to her newborn fawn we held those wires while he rolled to the side, slowly set up with his knee’s and feet over the edge of the bed and stood up. Very little assistance, almost all on his own. Next he slowly sat down in the chair… and has been there ever since. At the moment he is sleeping. He pushed himself a little too hard this morning by working with the therapist; On another note he did eat his first food.. yogurt..
Adam made two phone calls, his first call was to the Elders.. He wanted to see how the work was going and if Josh Whetman was able to make it to the appointment with them. He loves the missionaries. Mom got the second call.

It was so great to see you guys today. I hope the nausea goes away soon & that he can eat! Poor guy. He is so sweet & strong. Know that he & your family are in our prayers & that we love you guys. Take care.
