Two Weeks and a Day: Adam

I cannot begin to express the jubilation I feel as I have sat down with Adam the past several nights and enjoyed his company. I cannot express the overwhelming feelings that I feel from the power of united prayer… your prayers and ours… Thank you.

We have our son back… back home and back with us.  He knows his family; His mind is continually making new connections… Each and every day we are seeing progress in his object recognition and speaking.  There are still times of difficulties and rough roads ahead, but these paths are become smoother with the passage of time. Adam’s road is beginning to be more level as the Master Road Builder continues His gentle grading of  the path ahead;  As the time passes, fleeting minutes and hours will leave thoughts, words and sentences in their wake for him to build upon.

It’s been two weeks and a day from Adam’s last surgery.  We brought him home this past Saturday, just 11 days after the surgery where the doctors removed several areas of Adam’s brain. He continues his upward progress with a smile of a surety and the certainty of true faith…. Thank you Adam.. we love you.

Here is a message from Adam just two weeks and a day after his surgery.

    Mike, Cindy and Adam,
What a true inspiration you are to me. I don’t know if you remember us (Patrick and Linda Lockett) from when you lived in Fleming Island, a long time ago. I have often thought of your family and remember wondering when we go through Orlando to the Temple, I wonder whatever happened to Mike and Cindy- do they still live here? Feeling bad that we never kept in touch.

It started earlier today when I saw Norma’s comment on your video on facebook Mike and felt compelled to watch it, I then felt even more compelled to go to the beginning of your blog. Honestly, it wasn’t until I got halfway through that the names clicked and I stopped and had to look back at the pictures – instantly when I saw Cindy’s picture I knew, then I saw Adam’s face and smile and it all came together. It was your gray hair Mike that threw me off. But once I saw all of you together there was no doubt. I had never seen your girls they are beautiful. I admire the pillar of strength and courage shown by all of you. Adam you are amazing, I remember the little curly haired boy running around at your house off of 220. The love that your family had for one another back then and undoubtedly still have to this day. Mike your blogs were very moving and I couldn’t help but continue until the end – tears and all.

Patrick is out of town until tomorrow and I am going to share this with him. I will friend Cindy online and will continue to read your updates on your blog. Thank you for sharing your families story. We will keep Adam and your family in our prayers.. We always thought the world of your family. All our love.
